About Dr. John P. Cole – Medical Director Coleinstruments
Dr. John Peter Cole, MD, has started as one of the pioneers for FUE around 2002 being inspired by its discovery in the 1980´s through Dr. Masumi Inaba. He personalized and refined his method to an isolating technique called CIT ® (Cole Isolation Technique) making it able to “cherry-pick” single follicular units and achieve a maximum yield. After numerous patients were asking for scar repair he began to develop precision instruments and improve the process of a hair transplant by contiuously designing new and effectively working tools for both the extraction and the restoration process.
He proceeded to do research about scar-camouflaging leading to the body-hair-transplant-method, which enables even patients without sufficient donor supply to recover a head full of hair.
After graduating from Mercer University in 1981 he continued his medical studies at the Medical College of Georgia, U.S., approaching to a medical degree in 1985. A few years later a postgraduate degree was conferred by the University of Missouri, U.S., starting Dr. Cole’s career in the hair transplant business while opening his private clinic. Since then he is continuously trying to improve his methods for hair restoration.
Awards
Since 2000 he is also involved in multiple training programs after his presentation in the meeting of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He offers workshops to instruct young hair surgeons utilizing his instruments being developped constantly under high standards. Presenting his method and equipment worldwide and regularly being invited at numerous conventions of famous Societies he was finally awarded by the International Society for Hair Restoration, the Italian Society of Hair Restoration and the Dermal Hair International Group.
